Build from source.

Kwechiri is not yet published as a public npm package. Use the private repository source until packaging and publication policy are approved.

Requirements

  • Git
  • Node.js 20 or newer
  • npm

Clone and build

git clone https://github.com/Jmmadubuike/kwechiri-programming-language.git
cd kwechiri-programming-language
npm ci
npm run check

The canonical gate runs linting, strict source and test type checking, all tests, and the production build. Review the testing guide before making changes.

Run a program

examples/hello.kwe .kwe 
bipụta("Ndewo Ụwa!")
Ndewo Ụwa! 
node dist/cli/index.js examples/hello.kwe

Optional local command

Link the local package if you want the kwechiri command available:

npm link
kwechiri examples/hello.kwe
No public package yet. Do not replace this source-based setup with an npm installation until the project owner approves publication and licensing.
